Blackburn & Conner, P.C. is a full-service law firm with a focus on real property law and business and commercial transactions and litigation. With offices on Courthouse Square in the county seat of Bay Minette, on Section Street in downtown Fairhope, and coming soon to the Gulf Shores, Orange Beach area, the firm has a presence throughout Baldwin County, Alabama. This is reflected in our client base which includes the Baldwin County Commission in Bay Minette, Baldwin EMC in Summerdale, Turquoise Place in Orange Beach, Beach Club in Gulf Shores and the City of Spanish Fort.
The firm offers a wide range of real estate and business-focused legal services and regularly handles all aspects of transactional law (contract, deed, mortgage, note and other document preparation), litigation (plaintiff and defense) and land use (zoning, subdivisions, condominiums). Our lawyers regularly appear in all federal and state courts in Baldwin and Mobile counties, as well as before municipal commissions, councils, and other government bodies. We also assist clients with business formation and governance services such as forming corporations and limited liability companies, preparing shareholder and member agreements and other governing documents.
Our newest service offering is in the area of alternative dispute resolution. Though we have represented clients for a long time in arbitration, mediation, and other alternative dispute resolution arenas, we can now provide mediation services to all parties in a dispute to facilitate settlement outside of the courtroom. Mediation can be an effective way to reach a compromise at a reduced cost and avoid the risk and uncertainty of litigation or arbitration.
Daniel G. Blackburn started the firm as a solo practitioner in 1995 after practicing law for over a decade in Mobile and Baldwin Counties. David J. Conner joined the firm a year later in 1996 after graduating from the University of Alabama School of Law.
The firm is rich in history, still to this day operating out of the same law office where Mr. Blackburn’s father J.B. Blackburn practiced across the street from the Baldwin County courthouse. The walls and bookshelves of the firm’s Bay Minette office on Courthouse Square continue to be adorned with law books and memorabilia from J.B. Blackburn’s 56 years of legal practice. Nevertheless, the firm ensures that it is on the forefront of emerging legal issues affecting its real property and business clients in Baldwin County. For example, the firm has represented the Baldwin County Commission, Baldwin EMC and other clients impacted by the April 2010 BP Deepwater Horizon, Macondo Oil Well explosion and spill.
You are invited to review the individual biographies of the firm’s 5 lawyers for more detail on their background and experience. We enjoy representing our clients, providing them with value added legal services whether in business formation and governance, transactions or dispute resolution. We are very blessed to live and work in beautiful Baldwin County, Alabama.
